In November last year, ZÄHLWERK Apartments in Pfaffenhofen took a big step towards automation and service optimisation. For the first time, SAG and CODE2ORDER have collaborated and combined their systems. The result: The automatic check-in at the hotel via door with pin code has really taken off. Christoph Habermann, Operations Manager of ZÄHLWERK Apartments, is satisfied. He sees the immediate advantage in the fact that significantly fewer staff are needed at the reception desk, who can now look after the well-being of the guests. In addition, the collaboration has other advantages.
Collaboration between CODE2ORDER and Schulte-Schlagbaum AG:
An important step towards innovation
Since 1833, SAG has been developing and marketing smart solutions for automated access control, storage and accounting. The company now focuses on smart buildings and process organisation, supporting hotels, offices and hospitals, for example.
With CODE2ORDER, a collaboration was born that could not have worked better. Christoph Hermann also reports on his recent experiences with the new digitalisation partners: ‘The collaboration with CODE2ORDER and SAG convinced us, as the two partners work very well together and the solutions work perfectly together.’
Simple access options through SAG’s Smart Access solutions and the efficient and secure code generation of CODE2ORDER enable automated check-ins at the hotel – via door with pin code. The advantage: Hotel guests can check in and out conveniently with their own smartphone, without an app, through a code lock. The advantage for hoteliers: Guests are not only delighted by the modernity, but also benefit from more service and comfort.
Revolutionising the hotel industry with a strong partner
CODE2ORDER is an international player. The Stuttgart-based company was founded in 2015 by Patrick Luik and Fabian Hieber as well as Alexander Hußmann and focuses on making the hotel stay a digital experience for guests as well as automating processes in the hotel industry. The aim should be that the guests remain independent – i.e. they can simply check in and out digitally. This is exactly the goal they pursued with the door with pin code for hotels. It is based on the latest technology of the Progressive Web App. It enables quick and easy access via any terminal device – entirely according to the principle: Bring Your Own Device. No wonder they received the Intergastra Innovation Award in 2018.
Paving the way for innovation – door with pin code for hotel guests
CODE2ORDER and SAG are advancing digitalisation in the hotel industry. Guests receive temporary access for their door with pin code upon arrival. This allows them to check in and out easily and gives them individual access authorisations. The code is sent directly to the hotel guests’ smartphone by the CODE2ORDER software and can be used from there without an app or login. Checking into a hotel couldn’t be easier.
In combination with SAG’s intelligent locking systems, key systems become more efficient and intelligent. Quality electronic locks are fitted to each door, which can be opened using a generated numerical code. The RFID technology is located directly above the door handle or on the wall and thus replaces the conventional door lock. The door can be unlocked by entering the individual numerical code. All it takes is a light touch of the finger on the keypad. Especially in large buildings such as hotels, this results in a simple and smart solution for access control.
The smart hotel:
The advantages for guests and hoteliers
Why rely on the digital solution from CODE2ORDER and SAG? This has many advantages. But above all the following:
- Thanks to automatic check-in, the hotel staff has more time for the guests, such as for personal care or greeting the guests.
- Guests are more independent and can conveniently visit the hotel at any time of the day or night.
- With check-in via door with pin code, the room is already regulated to the preferred temperature.
A successful collaboration: With the door pin code, the hotel is joining the digitalisation transformation
The ZÄHLWERK Apartments in Pfaffenhofen were a pilot project of Schulte-Schlagbaum AG and CODE2ORDER. The aim of the project was to map a fully automated process for automatic check-in and check-out at the hotel. In this case, implementation speed and quality must go hand in hand to achieve this performance. Both partners, SAG and CODE2ORDER, are more than satisfied with the project. Further technical developments will follow in collaboration. You can also find out more about the individual smart access solutions from SAG here.
